We are very experienced in helping our clients to transition from older legacy applications; we provide the necessary data conversion, data cleansing and testing to make that transition as painless as possible.
We offer a range of products and services including the following:

Business software solutions written to clients’ requirements. We can provide experienced analysts that can help develop those specifications or work to a client-supplied brief.

We design and develop custom applications that can be accessed via a web-browser. These can be deployed for clients’ internal access only, or shared across the internet for public access or secure access by their customers or partners.

The newest and most exciting computer technology available to businesses today is Web technology. The technology that runs the Internet (World Wide Web) can also be made available to businesses in the form of an Intranet (for internal use only) and in the form of an Extranet (for external access by selected users). Advantages in getting Starsoft to help you develop an Internet or Intranet solution include -
- Ability to create data driven web solutions that you update the information in without any further requirement to get us involved.
- Solutions available at value prices compared to similar solutions from other internet developers.
- Experience in using the latest Internet development tools such as - ADO, XML, COM, Visual Studio .NET.
- Practical experience in developing Internet solutions involved in tying into back end data.
- Ease of Use - The browser type format enables companies to roll out solutions to non-technical staff, where a browser interface can give limited access or read-only access to enterprise data. This improves implementation prospects of the system as training and installation costs are minimised.

Starsoft has always invested a lot of time, money and effort in making sure that we are up-to-date with the latest available software tools.
Although we do not live on the bleeding edge as far as software development is concerned, we live close enough to the edge to learn about new software before it is released to the public at large.
Our software developers (all of whom are employed fulltime by Starsoft - we use no part time contractors) work using the very latest hardware and software technology.
As our development tools primarily come from Microsoft, we have access to various technical resources from them - the MSDN program, TechNet and various beta programs that we are involved with. As a company that has been involved with Microsoft for a number of years as a support partner (providing Visual FoxPro and SQL Server support for Microsoft) we have grown to have a close relationship with them. This has advanced our ability to staff at the forefront of software technology.
Starsoft Computers software developers use the following development tools -
- Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 and 2008. We also use Visual Studio 2005 for legacy applications
- Microsoft SQL Server 2008, 2008R2 and 2005
- Microsoft Visual FoxPro 9.0 for legacy applications
At Starsoft, we have a testing department separated from the software development process. By separating the two processes, we have a high success rate in removing a high percentage of bugs from the software before it is commission live by the customer. Some aspects of our testing processes are -
- Separate test computers - the actual test process involves installation and testing on test computers, not development computers.
- Different speed computers - this enables real world tests on hardware similar to what the customer may have.
- Different operating systems - we can test application and web software on the following Microsoft desktop operating systems - Windows 7, Vista, Windows XP, Windows 2000 and Windows NT.
- Testing on virtual computers. We use test computers running on Microsoft Virtual PC and Microsoft Virtual Server. This means that we can start the testing with the operating system in a known state and then roll back to this state after the testing. This avoids testing on top of bugs and errors.
