SharePoint is Microsoft’s web application platform – a modern version of the old intranet concept where company data is kept together in one space. It is particularly useful for web content management and document and file management. SharePoint can also be used to manage intranet portals, extranets, and web sites.

Third party components can be added into SharePoint and webparts (small apps) can be developed to pick up specific data.

Within Starsoft we have built a web part which picks up on specific email sent by the development team with details for testing developed software. These emails are captured in our “eziqueue” and available from within the Ezidoesit component in Outlook and in the web part on our SharePoint server.

Your business rules can be built into SharePoint. Create rules around document flows and processes and SharePoint enforces these rules. Users and user access rights can be picked up from Active Directory or can be manually set up.

Share ideas within departments or across departments in your organisation. Make documents available in read/only or read/format based on user permissions. Documents can reside on your servers and be exposed into SharePoint or can be created in and stored within SharePoint.
