Starsoft Mobile

There has been an explosion in the mobile device market – from web enabled phones, to tablets, to smart phones.

Starsoft have developed a number of business and social apps for the Windows Phone 7 (WP7) and the iPhone.

An example of a Smart Phone app: www.spillitnz.co.nz has iPhone and Windows Phone 7 apps which have been developed to allow the user to interact with the web site. Reminder messages set up on the smart phone are bounced up to the related web site and stored ready to be resent to the phone at the date/time scheduled.

Ezidoesit Mobile www.ezidoesit.com allows the Windows Phone 7 user to schedule work tasks on their mobile phone, dynamically fitting tasks in around existing Outlook appointments and tasks.

InterRugby www.interrugby.com is an interactive rugby app which works on the Windows Phone 7 phone and the iPhone. Because InterRugby is smart it helps you win bets in the pub, annoys your friends with your superior rugby knowledge and reduces your stress levels. InterRugby works with all international rugby games.

Most rugby apps are static, but InterRugby is smart. Want to know who will win if Wales is playing Scotland or Argentina is playing Fiji? If your team is ahead at half-time or behind with 10 minutes to go, will they win?

These have been developed using MonoTouch, XCode, Windows Phone 7 Development toolkit, C#, Microsoft Expression Blend 4, and Silverlight.

We have taken advantage of the release of Microsoft’s next iteration of their WP7 operating system – Mango (released in Q4 of 2011). The larger tiles and background processing will enable dynamic prompting of upcoming appointments when Ezidoesit is installed.
